Number portability is an option given to the clients, which allows them to keep their number when changing Operators.

For Fixed portability Orange Wholesale France advises that you register with and connect to the Association of inter-operator flow standardization platforms – APNF to automate exchanges between Operators, in addition to signing both Orange’s General and Specific Terms & Conditions.
Portability of mobile numbers is regulated by ARCEP France’s telecommunications regulatory authority) and managed by the Portability Management Entity (EGP – Entité de Gestion de la Portabilité) joint venture.
This entity is responsible for managing the reference base of ported numbers and the EGP inter-carrier portability Platform.
The EGP joint venture is also responsible for coordinating and relaying information between the different carriers involved in the portability number operations.
Orange is a member of the EGP joint venture and as a result complies with its technical, pricing and operational obligations.

Two types of number portability
Fixed number portability
Number portability includes access to two types of information.
Orange offers you a fixed portability solution that encompasses two types of services.
Information relating to Orange’s outgoing fixed ported numbers and their linking switch, and information relating to Orange’s outgoing ported Value-Added Services numbers.
From your Operators Area, Orange Wholesale France gives you access to information concerning the portability of Orange’s outgoing numbers from. The file contains the list of all outgoing, ported, fixed interpersonal communication numbers for which Orange is the Allocating Operator, as well as the portability prefix of the equipment on which the number is ported. Daily data updated by “overwriting” old data.
To benefit from fixed portability you must meet technical requirement :
- Agree to the General and Specific Terms & Conditions of portability
- Be a signatory of the customer support agreement and to the B2B Data Exchange service, in order to gain access to information-providing provisions
Mobile number portability
Mobile number portability is only available to mobile numbers beginning with 06 or 07.
If you would like to become a mobile portability operator, please contact GIE-EGP.
To benefit from mobile portability you must meet technical and legal requirements:
- You must subscribe to the EIG-PME and demonstrate the technical and functional capacity to integrate into the inter-operator portability system, lead by the GIE (French Economic Interest Group).

- Meet ARCEP requirements relating to deadlines for porting numbers and service quality
- Pay subscription and porting costs
