Thanks to our content delivery network (CDN), African soccer fans were able to enjoy the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) on the Max It mobile app, with optimal service quality!

But what is a CDN (Content Delivery Network)?

It is a network of servers located around the world, designed to speed up content loading (videos, web pages, streaming). In practical terms, the CDN delivers content from the server closest to the user. For example, if you are watching a video from France, Content Delivery Boost, Orange's CDN, will automatically select one of its servers located near your home, rather than routing the video from a server belonging to a provider based in the United States.
The result: your video starts instantly, without interruption or pixelation.

For the CAN, Orange Middle East & Africa (OMEA) orchestrated the event using Content Delivery Boost servers, which were directly integrated into local networks. Twelve Orange MEA countries thus benefited from full service availability on Max It, allowing fans to follow their favorite teams without interruption, even during peak viewing times. Our solution enabled 92% of videos to be processed locally, thereby reducing the load on the broadcaster's central servers.

Fans therefore enjoyed a smooth experience and exceptional responsiveness, making this operation a real showcase for Orange's technological and operational expertise.

This achievement once again demonstrates the strength of the collaboration between Orange MEA and Orange Wholesale, working together to better serve our customers across Africa.
